Our n-series of precision measuring instruments is designed for the exact determination of the thickness of compressible materials. This measuring instrument variant is based on the principle of the DM-2010 series, which has been proven for over 20 years, but the mechanics have been completely optimised to ensure ultra-precise guidance.
The result of this optimisation is a previously unattained measuring and repeat accuracy.
This high resolution of 0.0001 mm or 0.1 µm normally requires extremely high environmental standards (air-conditioned clean room).
However, the DM 2010 n-series is designed in such a way that temperature differences are introduced into the measuring system very slowly, resulting in very slow drift behaviour of the measurement results. Temperature differences of more than 6 K are therefore not a problem.
Vibrations and oscillations are dampened so effectively by the large mass (approx. 25 kg) and the sophisticated mounting of the mechanics that ultra-precise measurements can be taken even in a less than ideal environment.
The main causes of measurement errors are dust, aerosols and particles in the air. A grain of dust has an average size of 10 µm. In order to guarantee the precision of the measuring device, a clean atmosphere is one of the most important boundary conditions that should be maintained.

Our stationary thickness measuring devices can be designed precisely according to a desired standard or also customised to customer specifications. These measuring devices are developed and produced at our factory in Freiberg. This enables us to respond to all feasible requests.
